The presentation from archaeologist, historian and author Damian Shiels will reveal how the majority of the 170,000 or so Irish-born who fought in this conflict between 1861 and 1865 had earlier endured the Great Irish Famine. The lecture will be held in the Community Arts Centre above the library on the Ballingarry Road.
