BT aims to push women upwards

first_imgBT today launches a network designed to promote women into top managementpositions. The Women’s Executive Network is the latest in a raft of initiativesdesigned to boost the number of women in senior posts year-on-year. Caroline Waters, BT’s people networks director, said the network willoutline the attributes, such as openness, risk-taking and motivating andinspiring staff, that set high-fliers apart. The network, which includes 200 of the company’s most senior women, isbacked by BT’s chairman, Sir Christopher Bland. Waters said the company has also told headhunters it wants balanced lists ofcandidates and is confident the company can effect change “I think we will see change very quickly,” she said.
