Medal of Honor Warfighter Day 1 Patch includes 110 fixes

first_imgWhen a new game gets released it has typically gone through a rigorous testing process to track down as many bugs as possible before gamers get their hands on it. Inevtiably new bugs appear after launch when tens of thousands of players start playing it in anger. One or more patches are then released within a few days or weeks of the game being on general release. In the case of Medal of Honor: Warfighter %displayPrice% at %seller% , it seems that testing process happened after the final build was sent to manufacturing. Anyone picking up Warfighter on release day will be purchasing a bug-filled disc and EA is already urging gamers to download the huge Day 1 Patch.I say huge not because of its size, which I don’t actually know, but because of the sheer number of bug fixes it includes. In total, the patch includes 110 fixes spanning general gameplay tweaks, the single-player campaign, weapons, the user interface, multiplayer gameplay, multiplayer matchmaking, and even “visual polish.” And all that’s before we get to the miscellaneous list.Day 1 patches are acceptable if a serious bug is discovered after the disc has been sent to manufacturing, but in this case it seems like EA planned to test the game while manufacturing was underway. Depending on how long the patch takes to download and then install, it could be a frustrating process for gamers eager to start playing the latest in the Medal of Honor series.Medal of Honor: Warfighter is released today in the US and on October 26 across Europe. If you buy it for PS3 or Xbox 360 then you will be prompted to patch the game when the disc is inserted. PC gamers will be able to get the patch from Origin, or if you are downloading the game it should already be applied. You can view the full list of bug fixes the Day 1 Patch contains over at EA.last_img read more
