Tinney’s Toys: Check out CAT’s ‘Bruder’ toys for little builders

first_imgThis week Tinney’s Toys brings us through the history of engineering giant CAT, and their Bruder range of kid’s toys!Caterpillar are probably the best known brand in the construction industry with their extensive range of machines from mini diggers right up to mega quarry equipment. The Caterpillar company started in 1886, when Benjamin Holt built his first combined harvester in Stockton, California and in 1892 the Holt manufacturing company was established, and it was in 1910 that the Holt company registered the Caterpillar trademark. It was not until the 1950’s that the first Caterpillar or Cat Diggers as they are better known today arrived on our shores when the Caterpillar company set up their first overseas subsidiary which was in the UK.Today it is every child’s dream to drive one of these mega machines and with the latest addtion from Bruder they can do just that. The Bruder tag line “Just Like The Real Thing” stands out on the latest Bruder Caterpillar Digger to come on the market. As with all Bruder Toys this item is made from high quality durable plastic that deals with the high demands of a carpet farmer or construction worker. Starting with the base or under carriage we have a realistic looking set of tracks in silver than run smoothly when the toy is pushed along the floor.  The dozer blade to the front of the carriage has two positions, either fully up or fully down which is ideal for pushing sand along the ground, meaning the child does not have to hold the blade in position. On the main body of the digger we have a rear opening bonnet to get full view on the engine compartment so that the young workers can do the daily checks that all budding construction workers must do.Moving into the cab area the opening door gives access to the Bruder bWorld work men or women to operate the digger.  The interior of the cab like all of the toy is highly detailed showing the seat and joystick controls, foot rests and driving levers.  The cab is fitted with a front spot light, rear view mirror and handles for the work person to climb aboard.   There is also a round imitation beacon fitted on the cab but this does not light up and the Bruder light modules will not fit on to this cab.Now moving to the working part of the toy.  The jib has the realistic look of the pipes running up the top of the unit to feed the oil to the 3 major rams.  The large black multipurpose bucket will make light work of any sand pits that need moving, will full movement of jib and buckets.  The jib also moves side to side with the digger also able to do a full 360 degree turn. There are two versions of this latest model available. B10/2456 is the standard digger  for only €32.99 where as B10/2466 comes complete with a bWorld workman in a Cat uniform and with a Cat hard hat for €42.99.As with everything Bruder this is a fantastic durable toy that will gives hours of enjoyment either on the sandpit, carpet or even sitting on the bedroom shelf as the detail is high enough to be used as a model.  One thing that I would like to see is a range or different buckets coming for this item.  Who knows maybe they will be supplied as an add on in the future. Don’t forget about the Tinneys Toys Fun on the Farm event is coming Saturday from 1.30pm to 5.00pmTinney’s Toys: Check out CAT’s ‘Bruder’ toys for little builders was last modified: September 7th, 2016 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:brudercatdiggersengineeringFun on the FarmTinney’s Toyslast_img read more
